Photos from the Carters Archive and the yard!

The following photos are from 1980, when we opened in Battersea Park.

And opening at Pinkneys Green sometime in the '80s

From the archive: Lesser spotted Carters transport!

Follow @CartersFair on twitter and keep in touch with the Carters all the time!

Here's a fine example of a Ford Model A - the Oldest Working Lorry in the world. It's had a few different guises over the years, as a hoopla, a hook 'a duck and a candyfloss stall.

One of the most noticeable publicity vehicles, the steam road locomotive "Monarch" was always the centre of attention when it steamed through the town. Does anyone know where it is now?

Number Two, and Seth Carters Bristol bus... Keep your eyes peeled folks!

Saturday 7th April: 12 - 10:30pm
Sunday 8th April: 12 - 9pm
Monday 9th April: 12 - 9pm

Look what we found in the Archive

Here's Scammells number one and two, but which one did we own first?

Here's a picture of Scammell number three with the Yachts and the Chairplanes. This is the only Scammell to have left the family!

An old picture of the Galloper truck, also known as the "Sledge". (Because it's so low to the ground. It's this low so it can fit under the ride when it's being erected)

Here's a nice one of John Carter pulling the Chairplanes up onto their levelled pads.

A picture of Scammell number one with it's original ballast body, how it was when we bought it.

Scammell number three again with the Yacht centre and the Chairoplanes. This is standard procedure, pulling two trailers it tows remarkably well, even in Central London!

Made you look! This one isn't ours, and given how well Scammells were built, I don't like to think what happened to the other vehicle!
