Bath residents offer: Get 12 kids rides for £20 with your Discovery Card.

5 August, 2019

Touring the country with a vintage funfair is a busy lifestyle so we always look forward to our long stay in Royal Victoria Park, Bath. The fair is open until Sunday the 18th August this year and we are excited to have teamed up with the Bath Discovery Card to give Bath residents an exclusive discount. We feel privileged to be a part of such a fantastic scheme alongside so many other heritage attractions and museums.

Our special offer deals are normally reserved for people that book in advance online, but this year our new offer for Bath residents means that you can get an extra free ride when you buy a ride token bundle of £20 or more at the token booth on the day of your visit. This gives residents an extra bit of flexibility as you don’t have to prebook online. Whether you choose to visit on a weekend or weekday, you’ll always have access to the offer when you show your Discovery Card on the day of your visit.

How does the Discovery Card offer work at Carters Steam Fair?

Come and visit us in Royal Victoria Park (BA1 2NQ), we are open 11am-7pm everyday until the 18th of August 2019. Ride tokens are 50p each and rides take 4, 5 or 6 tokens, at the token booth we offer ride token bundles starting at £20. These bundles contain the ride tokens you have bought plus extra free rides. If you show your Discovery Card when buying one of these bundles you will receive an extra free ride in addition to any deal available on the day!

How to get 12 kids rides for £20 with your Discovery Card.

At our beautifully restored fair we have rides for children of all ages: from toddlers up to big kids. The rides take ride tokens and the smaller rides (up to around age 8 depending on how tall they are) take 4 tokens per person.

Our £20 ride token deal gives you 40 ride tokens, enough for 10 young kids rides. It already includes one extra free ride pass when you buy it on the day from the token booth, and if you show your Discovery Card you’ll get an extra free ride pass on top of that! So that’s 12 kids rides for £20.

As an extra top tip, those two extra free ride passes can be actually used on ANY of our rides – even the bigger rides that take 5 or 6 tokens so you could decide to use your ride tokens on 10 younger kids rides and then use your two free ride passes on two big thrill rides like the Dive Bomber or the Steam Yachts.

If you have older children, you can choose to spend your 40 ride tokens however you want – perhaps a ride on ‘The Gallopers’ (or carousel as the Americans call it’). That takes 5 tokens per person.

You can read more tips about making the most of your ride tokens from a mummy blogger who visited the fair.

More than just a fair

If you’re a Bath resident that wouldn’t usually visit a fair, then we hope you might take advantage of this offer and come and see us. We’re more than your average fair – we’re a unique piece of living history with rides that have been rescued and restored to their original format and design using traditional painting styles and techniques. Our rides and sidestalls date from the 1890s to the 1960s and provide good old-fashioned family fun. Our fair has even featured in the movies and on TV: you may have seen us in Rocketman, Paddington 2, The Theory of Everything, Call the Midwife and the Netflix series Fairground Attractions.

But don’t just take our word for it, we recently had the editor from Bath and Wiltshire Parent Magazine at the fair, you can read his review of Carters Steam Fair here.

You can find out more about Carters Steam Fair on our website and on our facebook page where we have a Facebook Event for Bath which has all of the latest news and information.
