Carters Steam Fair Final Sale & Open Weekend

Join us on the 28th and 29th of October 2023 at our Carters Steam Fair HQ, Carters Yard, White Waltham. Following the success of our July open day and auction we have decided to give you all another unique opportunity to visit our yard that is usually closed to the public. You can buy a piece of Carters memorabilia, staff uniform and see some of our fairground equipment and vintage vehicles. 

Whether you are a fan of the fair or love signwriting and hand painted lettering, Joby has lots planned for you all. Free entry all weekend.

Parking – please park on the roadways only being considerate of other road users and residents. You can’t park on any of the nearby grass areas or on the track outside any of our yards.

Sale of the fair

In April 2022, we announced the final tour of our unique collection of vintage fairground rides. Since then, we’ve done everything we can to raise awareness of the sale of the fair and have spoken to relevant individuals involved with heritage and the arts, government representatives, national organisations and potential investors. Our goal was to find a new permanent home for the complete collection. Sadly, this has not been possible, and we have exhausted all options trying to find a buyer for the fair as a whole. The rides and vintage vehicles are now available to purchase individually.

If you are interested in owning any of our rides or vintage transport we encourage you to get in touch as soon as possible. We have some potential buyers interested in making an offer on their preferred rides before we build up the whole collection. PUBLIC OPEN WEEKEND: Saturday 28 & Sunday 29 October

Open at 9:30am – 4:30pm both days, free entry, no appointments necessary?.

Public open day for anyone to visit the yard. There will be the opportunity to take photos of the remaining rides that we have built up and we will be selling off any remaining merchandise, signs and uniform.

We have published a brochure detailing the available rides and transport available. We have a guide price for each ride and vehicle and we are open to sensible offers: a good home might sway the decision as to who it is sold to.
