Can’t get enough of Joby’s Signwriting Courses?

Join Joby for a series of five virtual sessions broadcasted live where Joby will be focusing on the importance of layout.

Each of these sessions will be one hour long during which Joby will be demonstrating his brush skills and continuing to share his expert tips which have been passed down through generations of signwriters; you will be drawing and painting along with Joby leaving you with your own beautiful hand-painted sign to amaze your friends – and all for only £45 PLUS new for this club, we will be sending you the recording!

Moving on from the Learn About Letters, Fancy Lettering, Brush Strokes and the other virtual online courses as well as workshop courses Joby is offering Carters Signwriting Club. He will introduce you to some new letter styles that you haven’t tried before, to keep things interesting – and even challenge him a bit too. The sessions will stretch your new-found skills and help you develop your layouts, lettering and brushwork – all together with other newfound letterers.

Even if you have not attended one of Jobys courses before don’t worry because laying out is such a huge part of being a signwriter that it doesn’t matter if you haven’t yet learnt about letters with Joby.

We will be working on an aluminium composite board, available from our website – it’s prepared and ready to paint on, and is the perfect size for posting, so you can make presents for your deserving friends and family. Joby will work with you to lay out the design and will provide the measurements.

To start with, you will need:

  • Ruler
  • Pencil
  • Rubber
  • A sheet of paper as big as the board (at least 405x280mm)
  • Some chalk to transfer your drawing

Joby will let you know what materials you will need for the paintwork during the first session, so you can order it in for the following week if you don’t have what you need in stock. If you’re not a natural painter but would like to come along for the fun of it, there’s no reason why you couldn’t just draw the design out on paper and colour it in.
